STA was proud to welcome David Tisch as part of our continued virtual “Tech Talks” events this Spring! David Tisch is Managing Partner of BoxGroup, an NYC-based seed-stage venture capital firm.
During the first half of the talk, we will discuss David's experience with BoxGroup and TechStars, what he is looking for when he invests, and his advice for MBA students interested in venture capital, startup, and technology careers. The second half of the talk will be an AMA with audience members asking David questions live.
David Tisch is the Managing Partner of BoxGroup, an NYC-based seed-stage venture capital firm that has invested in over 300 seed-stage startups, including Plaid, Ro, PillPack, Flatiron Health, Stripe, Warby Parker, Harry’s, Oscar, Flexport, Classpass, Vine, Clubhouse, GroupMe, Airtable and more. David is the Chairman of GoodDog, a marketplace to find pets online. David is a founding board member of Lemontree Foods, a non-profit that sells family dinners in NYC. He is the co-founder of TechStars NYC and serves on the board of Friends of Hudson River Park. He is a Rock Fellow at Harvard Business School and on the Entrepreneur Board at New York University. David served as the Head of Startup Studio at Cornell Tech, where he taught two graduate classes for 5 years. He previously served on the board of New York Public Radio and Mayor Bloomberg’s Advisory Council on Technology. David is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and New York University Law School. David lives in the West Village with his wife Zara and three kids and three dogs.
